Number of evacuation victims of Baku metro has increased

19 people turned to doctors after evacuation from the Baku metro; six of them were hospitalized.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on July 3, after an accident at the power station in Mingachevir, the cities of Baku and Sumgait, and other regions of Azerbaijan lost their power supply. The equipment failed because of the abnormal heat, the "Azerenerdji" Company has explained. Power outages caused a stop of Baku metro. Evacuation of passengers from the trains trapped in tunnels was held in extreme heat. Earlier it was reported that 17 people complained of poor health, and five were hospitalized.

In fact, after the evacuation of passengers from the metro, 19 of them applied for medical help. People complained about their poor health, increased blood tension, headaches and heart pains. Six people were sent to hospital treatment, a source from the Ministry of Public Health told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to the Ministry, on July 3, 10 more people turned to doctors complaining of sunstroke; nine people were hospitalized. Since June 1, the total number of sunstroke victims reached 62, including 46 men, 12 women and four children, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the City Clinical Centre No. 1.
