Police raids party headquarters

A group of officers of a Baku police station raided the headquarters of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) this morning. The police tore apart the orange tent on the balcony on the first floor of the building, broke room doors, computers, and other property, the party press service told Caucasian Knot.

In connection with this incident, according to the press service, the DPA has today distributed a statement in which it says that the attack on the party office pursued a definite goal. The party accused Azerbaijan's law enforcement agencies of the attack. Simultaneously, the DPA leadership addressed the law enforcement agencies with a demand that such incidents should be prevented in the future. "All this once again gives evidence of the falsity of the government's declarations of democratic elections," the document remarks.

In turn, the police station noted that necessary measures were taken to identify the attackers.
