Sochi supporter of oppositional leader Navalny applies for political asylum in Sweden
Dmitry Titkov, an oppositionist from Sochi, has applied for political asylum in Sweden. According to his story, he has already received a work permit and learns the Swedish language.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about persecutions of activists of the Sochi office of Alexei Navalny, including of Dmitry Titkov. In October 2017, he said that six people had threatened to execute him, if he did not stop his picket in support of Navalny.
"I've lived through a lot of stressful situations; and placing me for nine days into a cell with a drug addict was the last drop in my cup of patience," said Dmitry.
According to his story, he received a visa to Sweden, came there and applied for political asylum. There, he was given a room in a house for seven persons.
The Swedish authorities pay some 200 euros on the average to each refugee; this money is enough to buy foodstuffs, the activist said.
According to Dmitry, in Sweden he met many migrants from Russia, but in his house he lives with refugees from Syria and Iraq.
