Conflict with elites is beneficial for Evkurov in Kremlin's eyes

The conflict with the Muftiate, disagreements with Ramzan Kadyrov, resonant trials of law enforcers and counterterrorist operations (CTOs) will not stop the Kremlin from reassigning Yunus-Bek Evkurov as the head of Ingushetia, the political analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe.

Ingushetia will elect the head of the republic in the autumn. On May 24, Mr Evkurov stated that he was ready to head the republic once again, if the Russian President Putin brought his candidacy into the republic's parliament.

On May 27, the Ingush Muftiate removed Evkurov from the Muslim community. Some experts saw in the conflict the aggravation of his interrelations with Kadyrov, whose interests are lobbied by the Ingush Muftiate.

In the opinion of Boris Makarenko, a political analyst, the Kremlin does not make decisions under pressure; and the conflict with the Muftiate will be sooner an argument in favour of Evkurov.

Conflicts with local elites are not a determining factor in making decision to reappoint regional heads, Mikhail Vinogradov and Nikolai Petrov, political analysts have noted.

Evkurov proved himself to be an official loyal to the federal centre, who personally suffered from terrorists, said Alexander Perendjiev, a deputy chairman of the Russian Association of Military Political Analysts.
