Wolves attack three children in Nagorno-Karabakh

Two young children and a teenager were hospitalized in a state of moderate gravity after they were attacked by wolves, the Ministry of Public Health of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has reported.

According to the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), the attack of wolves occurred in the evening on May 28 in the communities of Metz Tager and Tumi of the Gadrud District.

The children will spend two weeks in the hospital, said the medical staff.

Nazik Airiyan, Tigran Khamperyan's mother, said that her son played in the yard when a wolf attacked him. The predator ran away, frightened by adults. Kamo Gasparyan was shepherding near his native village of Tumi. His fellow villagers managed to save the boy.

Wolves' attacks on domestic animals have happened more than once, but on humans – for the first time this year, noted Karlen Gasparyan, a Tumi villager.
