Political analysts announce possibility of new protests in Armenia
There is antagonism in relations between the new Armenian government and delegates from the former ruling party. In case if no compromise is reached, the Prime Minister will resort to street protests, political analysts believe.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that mass protests led to the change of power in Armenia in May. On May 8, opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan became the Prime Minister of Armenia and the actual head of the state.
There will be inevitable difficulties in interaction between members of the Parliament, where the majority of seats is still kept by the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), and members of the Nikol Pashinyan's government, political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan notes.
Political analyst Alexander Makarov has not ruled out that the new government can take advantage of the protest potential. Meanwhile, according to him, the Republicans will fight to maintain their influence.
Despite the resistance of the Republicans, Nikol Pashinyan and his team have a chance to take all power and they will take it, believes political analyst Armen Kazaryan, a researcher from the Caucasus Institute.
He has also added that from the point of view of the state security, it will be better if the power is concentrated in the hands of the Prime Minister.
