Pickets in support of arrested activists held in Rostov-on-Don

In Rostov-on-Don, activists held a series of solo pickets in support of Yan Sidorov and Vladislav Mordasov, accused of plotting mass riots.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 5, 2017, in Rostov-on-Don, 13 protesters, supporters of oppositionist Vyacheslav Maltsev, who promised a revolution on that day, were detained in Soviet Square. According to the investigators' version, the action was organized by Vladislav Mordasov and Yan Sidorov, residents of Rostov-on-Don, administrators of the Telegram chat "Revolution 5/11/17 Rostov-on-Don" with discussion of the plans to organize riots. On April 6, the court extended the arrests of Vladislav Mordasov and Yan Sidorov for a month, and on May 3, for one more month.

On May 6, activists held a series of solo pickets in front of the government building in the Rostov Region in support of Yan Sidorov and Vladislav Mordasov, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

"Today (on May 6), Vladislav Mordasov celebrates his birthday. Today marks the anniversary of the events in Bolotnaya Square, when Article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation became a tool of political repression against young civilians of Russia. On this day, we came to the same place where the guys were at large for the last time, and we demand to set them free," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Anastasia Shevchenko, a participant of the protest action.
