Armenian MPs unanimously ratify agreement with EU
Today, the Armenian Parliament has ratified the agreement with the European Union (EU), which envisages the cooperation development in economy and other spheres, as well as a possibility of visa regime liberalization.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 24, 2017, Armenia signed an agreement on comprehensive and expanded partnership with the EU and became the only country of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) with an agreement with the EU of this kind.
The cooperation document brought in by the Armenian Government was approved today by all the 95 MPs, who have registered for the today's session, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Karen Nazaryan, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, has noted that the agreement with the EU "reflects the depth of bilateral relations and regulates political and economic ties."
Besides, he noted the importance of the provision on Karabakh settlement included into the agreement. In particular, as he said, "the document highlights the need for a peaceful and comprehensive settlement, and emphasizes the EU's position of supporting the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group based on the norms and principles of the international law."
