Ingush authorities offer Qatar share in mini-HPP construction
The Qatar's Minister of Energy is interested in the proposal of the head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov to attract investors to the construction of mini hydraulic power plants (mini-HPPs) in the republic. In will allow unloading the Ingush energy system, Musa Tsitskiev, the acting head of the republic's committee for industry and energy, explained to the "Caucasian Knot".
On February 5-8, Qatar holds the Days of Ingushetia. At his meeting with Mukhammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, the Energy and Industry Minister of Qatar, Mr Evkurov expressed the idea of the participation of Qatari investors in the construction of mini-HPPs in the republic, the press service of the head of Ingushetia has reported.
Mr Evkurov has added that there are enterprises in Ingushetia, the participation in which may interest Qatari investors.
Ingushetia has a project of building 6-8 mini-HPPs; its approximate cost is 1.8 billion US dollars; and, most probably, talks were held in Qatar on the construction of these mini-HPPs, Mr Tsitskiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to his story, in this case, the electricity tariff will go down; and this "will be a good impetus for the development of small and medium-sized businesses in Ingushetia."
