Umar Djabrailov sentenced to fine of 500,000 roubles

The Tver Court of Moscow has imposed a fine of 500,000 roubles on Umar Djabrailov, a businessman and a former senator from Chechnya, accused of hooliganism.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 29, Umar Djabrailov was detained after firing at a Moscow hotel. Later, he signed recognizance not to leave and was released. Umar Djabrailov was charged with hooliganism committed with the use of weapon. The businessman himself admitted he had fired from a pistol. However, he explained the incident by his concussions got during the war.

In 2000, businessman Umar Djabrailov participated in the presidential election in Russia, and following the results, he took the last, 11th place, with 0.08% of the votes. In 2004-2009, Umar Djabrailov was a representative of Chechnya in the Federation Council.

Today, the Tver Court of Moscow has started the consideration of the Umar Djabrailov's case in a special order, that is, without examining evidence and questioning witnesses.

The public prosecutor has requested the Court to sentence the businessman to two years of conditional imprisonment.

Umar Djabrailov himself has appealed to the Court with a request to sentence him to a fine in the case of hooliganism.

As a result, the judge took into account the positive characteristics, recommendations, and absence of aggravating circumstances and decided to sentence Umar Djabrailov to a fine of 500,000 roubles.
