Resort fee in Kuban will make 10 roubles per day per person
In 2018, authorities of the Krasnodar Territory (also known as Kuban by the name of the main river) expect to receive about 270 million roubles by collecting the resort fee at a rate of 10 roubles per tourist per day.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 19 this year, the Russian State Duma adopted a law on payment for the use of resort infrastructure in the Krasnodar, Stavropol and Altai Territories, and in the Crimea. The collection thereof should start not earlier than May 2018.
In Kuban, they first plan to introduce the fee only at federal and regional resorts, namely in Sochi, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Goryachy Klyuch and the Tuapse District, said Khristofor Konstantinidi, the Kuban Minister of Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage.
Earlier, the reasonableness of introducing the resort fees triggered a debate among experts and tourism professionals. Hoteliers of the Krasnodar Territory were against it, fearing a drop in tourist flow after introduction thereof.
