Abkhaz rescuers find body of missing Russia tourist

The man’s body found in the village of Verkhni Kelasura presumably belongs to the Russian tourist Andrei Likhachov, who disappeared back in July, the Abkhaz Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Andrei Likhachov, a tourist from the Moscow Region, did not return from his solitary hike in Abkhazia. The search operation lasted for 20 days and gave no results.

Andrei Likhachov last contacted his relatives on July 12; and on July 22, he was supposed to fly from Sochi to Moscow. On September 5, Margarita Likhachova, his mother, promised a million roubles for the help in searching her son.

The above man’s body was found in a remote place without clothes, only in his boots on. His identity and cause of death have not yet been defined, the “Abkhazia-News” reports citing the republic’s MfE.
