Soldier dies in NKR

Seiran Sargsyan, a serviceman of the Defence Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) was shot dead today by fire from the Azerbaijani side, the NKR’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) reports.

According to the MoD, the above soldier was killed today at about 3 p.m. local time in the south-eastern direction of the troops contact line.

An inquiry has been launched to find out the details of the death of the 19-year-old soldier, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports citing the above MoD.

By a President’s decree, the deceased Seiran Sargsyan was posthumously awarded the medal "For Military Merits", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports referring to the press service of the NKR’s presidential office.

So far, no comments are available from the Azerbaijani MoD regarding the above incident.
