Tatiana Moskalkova explains deaths of five Chechen residents from "execution list"

Three persons from the "execution list" made public by the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" died after armed clashes in Chechnya last December, and two others died from natural reasons. This has been reported by Tatiana Moskalkova, Russia's Ombudsperson.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 20, two residents of Chechnya, earlier declared dead, were delivered to Grozny to meet Tatiana Moskalkova.

On July 9, the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta" reported that at night on January 26, in Chechnya, residents of the republic detained in connection with an attack on policemen in Grozny on December 17, 2016, were executed.

According to Tatiana Moskalkova, "three persons from the 'execution list' are alive, two of them were delivered to Grozny for a meeting, and one more man lives in Moscow." Two others died from natural reasons, added Tatiana Moskalkova.

"In total, 31 people are mentioned in the list. For each name, there is an official explanation from the authorities," emphasized the Russia's Ombudsperson.

Earlier, Tatiana Moskalkova has reported that in Chechnya, criminal cases were instituted on the disappearance of 18 people.

Igor Kalyapin, the head of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture, does not believe Chechen investigators will carry out investigations into the above cases on disappearances.

"In ALL cases, investigators regularly allowed delays," Igor Kalyapin noted in his Facebook.
