In South Ossetia, investigators reject pressure on activist Tamara Mearakishvili

Activist Tamara Mearakishvili is not subjected to pressure from investigators in the case of defamation. This was stated by an investigator from the Prosecutor's Office for the Leningor District in South Ossetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 17, activist Tamara Mearakishvili reported the Prosecutor's Office of South Ossetia accused her of defamation against Spartak Dryaev, a member of the "United Ossetia" Party.

The Prosecutor's Office will shoot on video all interrogations to involve Tamara Mearakishvili, since she "distorts the interrogation process and presents it for the media as a threat," reported Alan Bazrov, an investigator from the Prosecutor's Office for the Leningor District in South Ossetia. According to him, prosecutors treat the suspect extremely correctly.

The investigator explained that about a month ago, Spartak Dryaev complained about the Tamara Mearakishvili's interview, published at the "Echo of the Caucasus" on April 29. In the interview, the activist claims that supporters of the South Ossetian President openly try to hold positions in various organizations.

In February 2014, Tamara Mearakishvili was dismissed from the post of the head for the House of Children's Creativity in the Leningor village.

Parents of the children, who attended educational circles in the House of Children's Creativity when it was led by Tamara Mearakishvili, assessed the activist's activities in positive way.
