Federation Council approves introduction of resort fee in Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories
The Senators of the Federation Council have approved the law adopted by the State Duma on introduction, in the test regime, in four Russian regions, including Stavropol and Krasnodar Territories, of fees for using the resort infrastructure.
According to the law, the experiment with the introduction of the resort collection in the Crimea, Altai, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories will last until the end of 2022. The fee to be defined by local authorities, but it cannot exceed 50 roubles per person per hotel day in 2018, and 100 roubles in 2019-2022.
According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), the Krasnodar Territory will fix its resort fee, starting May 1, 2018, at 20-30 roubles per person per day, the Stavropol Territory – 30-50 roubles.
In the Stavropol Territory, most probably, the fee will be introduced only at the resort of the Caucasian Mineral Waters (CMW). However, since this resort is visited mainly by the so-called “budget” tourists, among whom there are many beneficiaries, or those who have various privileges, it is possible that about 60% of those arriving in the CMW will pay no fee at all, the ATOR website suggests.
