Stepanakert accuses Baku of 300 cases of shelling per week

In the period from July 2 to July 8, the Azerbaijani side violated ceasefire on the contact line in the Karabakh conflict zone 300 times. The Azerbaijani armed forces used mortar launchers, cannons, and grenade launchers, and on July 4 multiple rocket launchers. This was stated by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 4, Nagorno-Karabakh accused Azerbaijan of the first use of a multiple rocket launcher since April 2016. The Azerbaijani side refuted the information. On July 7, the Azerbaijani armed forces shelled the Armenian positions and explained the shelling by the need to prevent a diversion. The Azerbaijani side called the shelling a retaliation for the deaths of civilians in the village of Alkhanly. As a result, according to the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD, three soldiers of the Defence Army were injured.

According to the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD, during the period from July 2 to July 8, the Azerbaijani armed forces used small arms, mortar launchers of various calibre, cannons, and grenade launchers. In total, the ceasefire regime was violated by Azerbaijan about 300 times.

In the period from July 2 to July 8, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence also repeatedly accused the Armenian side of shelling and counted in total 918 violations of the ceasefire. According to the Azerbaijani MoD, during a single passed day, the Azerbaijani positions were shelled 129 times.
