Flight from Saint Petersburg to Tbilisi detained because of reported bomb on board
Flight A-9786 from the "Pulkovo" Airport to Tbilisi was to depart at 7:05 p.m., but was detained. Passengers had to pass the procedure of landing once again. At that moment, law enforcers were checking the aircraft for presence of an explosive device.
An unidentified man called the "Georgian Airways" and reported on a bomb in the plane to leave Saint Petersburg for Tbilisi. As a result, the aircraft of the "Georgian Airways" was subjected to a thorough check.
The report about the check of the aircraft to leave for Tbilisi for presence of a bomb was confirmed by Givi Davitashvili, General Director of the "Georgian Airways".
According to him, the "Pulkovo" Airport got a message from unidentified person that a kind of an explosive device could be planted on board of the plane to carry out the flight from Saint Petersburg to Tbilisi. "The flight was delayed because of the report on a bomb. The security service of the 'Pulkovo' Airport re-inspected the aircraft and luggage. Passengers were repeatedly subjected to scanning. Fortunately, as expected, no explosive device was found."
