Azerbaijani "Formula 1" Grand Prix brought together almost 30,000 spectators

One third of the seats in the stands of the "Formula 1" Motor World Championship held on June 25 were bought out by foreigners, said the organizing company, stating an increase in the number of sold tickets. However, some residents of Baku are unhappy with the problem related to the races.

Almost all the seats in the stands for 30,000 spectators were sold out, the Baku City Circuit Company has reported. According to its story, tourists arrived from 60 countries.

The ticket costs varied from 40 to 520 US dollars, depending on the stands and the number of visiting days of the races. The most expensive tickets gave access to the stands during all three days, as well as to concerts of world stars.

The spectators interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" praised highly the level of the races.

However, in the opinion of Natig Djafarli, an economic analyst and the executive secretary of the "Republican Alternative" (ReAl) opposition movement, the expenditures on the races do not pay off.

A 45-year-old resident of Baku named Alovsat, who is carrying passengers with the help of the Uber service, expressed his dissatisfaction with transport problems.

Gyulbeniz Alekperova, a pensioner, was indignant at the closure of Baku Boulevard from June 22 to June 25.

For the first time ever, a "Formula 1" race was held in Baku on June 17-19, 2016. Then also, some Baku residents were unhappy because of inconveniences related to preparation and holding the races.
