In Tbilisi, protestors demand to ban extradition of Turkish teacher

Today, in Tbilisi, people have held an action against extradition of Mustafa Emre Çabuk, a Turkish citizen, accused in Turkey of aiding and abetting terrorists.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 24, Mustafa Emre Çabuk was detained in Tbilisi at the request of the Turkish side, and on May 26, the Tbilisi City Court sentenced him to a three-month extradition arrest.

In total, in Tbilisi, the today's action in front of the Georgian government building gathered 50-10 people, wearing T-shirts with Mustafa Emre Çabuk's portraits and posters with slogans in his defence. The number of protestors included teachers of the Turkish school in Kutaisi and pupils of that school, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondents report.

"We came here to support our beloved teacher. The sphere of pedagogy should not become an object of political squabbles," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Nestan Svianadze, a teacher of the Turkish school in Kutaisi.

The protest action was also attended by Mustafa Emre Çabuk's advocates. They have claimed doing their best to prevent the extradition of their client to Turkey.
