Azerbaijani and Armenian delegations fight at "Immortal Regiment" actions in Moscow and Saint Petersburg

The flags of Nagorno-Karabakh, brought by Armenian delegations, triggered conflicts at marches of "Immortal Regiment" in Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

The members of the Azerbaijani delegation, who took part in the "Immortal Regiment" action in Moscow, verbally demanded from the Armenian Diaspora to remove the flags, since they were not related to the topic of the action, the "Voice of Islam" newspaper asserts.

After that, a brawl broke out among the participants of the "Immortal Regiment", during which several persons were injured.

Policemen interfered and stopped the brawl; they divided the Armenian and Azerbaijani columns; each of them was further accompanied by OMON (riot police) fighters.

In Saint Petersburg, where members of Armenian and Azerbaijani youth organizations participated in the "Immortal Regiment" action, a conflict was also triggered by the raised flags of Nagorno-Karabakh.

"A verbal skirmish turned into a small fight, which was stopped in time by OMON agents. All the members of the Union of Azerbaijani Youth of Saint Petersburg were detained, two of them managed to escape," the "Panarmenian" quotes Arshak Oganesyan, the co-chairman of the Armenian youth organization "Nor-Serund", as saying.
