Volgograd truckers demand meeting with Bocharov

Andrei Bocharov, the Governor of the Volgograd Region, should react to the situation with transport services in the region and convey the demand of local truckers to abolish the “Platon” system to the federal centre, the protesters said.

Earlier, the protesting truckers of the Volgograd Region reported about the received threats.

Today, a group of activists delivered a letter to the Governor's office demanding "personal involvement of Andrei Bocharov in solving the problems that have accumulated in the sphere of transportation services."

On April 19, the Regional Committee of Transport and Road Facilities and the strikers sent a request to the federal authorities to abolish the “Platon” system. This was reported by Alla Beg, the coordinator of the regional group of strikers and the President of the "Union 34" of Carriers and Entrepreneurs of the Volgograd Region.

According to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, during the last 24 hours, the number of heavy trucks in the protesters’ column dropped from 17 to 11 vehicles.
