Dagestani disappears after search of his house

Relatives of a Khasavyurt resident have turned to rights defenders stating his disappearance after detention by unidentified power agents on April 18. They fear that he may be tortured.

The fact that Ramazan Izudinov, born in 1991, was detained on April 18 was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by his wife Ellada, a resident of the neighbourhood of Vostochny of the city of Khasavyurt. According to her story, she lives with her husband and a 1.5-year-old daughter, and is in the seventh month of pregnancy.

According to the woman, during the search, power agents recorded her data, as well as the data of her husband and relatives.

Relatives tried to locate the detainee, but in vain, as the police stations where they turned to, told them that Izudinov had not been brought there.

Patimat Magomedova, the detainee’s sister, has turned to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Makhachkala. She fears that they hide Ramazan from relatives in order to conceal traces of illegal methods of investigation.
