Law enforcers: suspected perpetrator of terror act in Saint Petersburg has connections with Syrian militants

A source from the law enforcement bodies reports that a native of Central Asia, who had connections with Syrian militants, blew himself up in the metro of Saint Petersburg. According to the preliminary information, the terror act was committed by a citizen of the Russian Federation, who was born in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 3, a terror act took place in the Saint Petersburg metro. The law enforcement bodies report that the explosion could be committed by a suicide bomber.

According to the updated information, 62 people suffered. The National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) of Russia reports that 11 persons were killed.

Earlier, a source from the law enforcement bodies has reported that, given the nature of the body injuries, the explosive device was attached to the suicide bomber's body, or was in his backpack, or the suicide bomber was holding it in his hands at the level of his stomach.

The experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have admitted involvement of natives of the Caucasus in the terror act.

Earlier, the media have reported that law enforcers are checking information on involvement of Maxim Aryshev, a citizen of Kazakhstan, in the terror act in the metro of Saint Petersburg. Today, Nurgali Bilisbekov, Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, has reported that the above information is incorrect, the "Interfax" reports.
