Chechen Prosecutor's Office demands to punish blogger for humorous video about Koran
The Chechen Prosecutor's Office demands to bring blogger Ilya Davydov to criminal responsibility for a stage performance with broad jokes about the Koran and the Bible.
YouTube published the humorous presentation of Ilya "Maddison" Davidov "The joke about the Koran" with duration of 2 minutes and 6 seconds. In the video, the blogger uses abusive language to tell the audience how he bought the Koran and went to a toilet room to read it, but found no toilet paper there.
"The video includes actions and statements aimed at humiliation of person and group of persons on grounds related to the religion of Islam and Christianity," announces the report of February 3 posted on the website of the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.
In that regard, the Chechen Prosecutor's Office has prepared an appeal to the court for recognition of the video material as extremist and demanded from the investigating authorities to initiate a criminal case against the blogger.
The two-minute video with the Ilya Davydov's performance was posted on YouTube in April 2015, the "TASS" reports.
The very blogger's performance in a Moscow stand-up club dates back to the year of 2012. In January 2017, it appeared on the Muslim channel Telegram 'Require Knowledge', and then Ilya Davydov began to receive threats and insults, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
On January 21, Ilya Davydov left Russia for abroad, and he did not complain to the police about the threats against him, the "Lenta.ru" reports with reference to a blogger's friend.
