Relatives of those detained in Tsotsi-Yurt repent before fellow villagers

On January 13, at a rally of residents of the village of Tsotsi-Yurt, relatives of the detained suspected militants publicly repented for the actions of young people. It was decided not to evict the relatives from the village, but the villagers were warned that in the future militants' families will be sent out from the territory of the republic, the participants of the rally have reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 10, Ramzan Kadyrov announced the detention in Tsotsi-Yurt young people, who "had prepared a series of grave crimes." Since January 11, power agents are conducting a special operation in the village and its vicinities, in the course of which at least four suspected militants and two soldiers of the Rosgvardiya were killed. Law enforcers are detaining en masse young local residents, claiming they are searching for an escaped militant.

According to Kadyrov, a relative of the field commander Isa Muskiev, killed in 2006, is among the detainees.

Villagers are set not to admit any involvement of young people in the ranks of militants, said Sultan, a participant of the rally.

Yusup, another villager, has added that despite the statements voiced out at the rally, they decided not to evict relatives of detained militants from the village. He treats such a measure as "inadmissible from the viewpoint of the law and a normal person."

At the rally on January 12, relatives of those killed in Tsotsi-Yurt spoke in favour of eviction, an employee of the local administration has added.
