Kondratiev urges businessmen to make holidays in Sochi more accessible

Veniamin Kondratiev, the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, has called, within the visit of the Premier Dmitri Medvedev, at a sitting on tourism industry, on local businessmen to make price rates of vacations in Sochi more affordable.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the ski season was opened in Sochi on December 7. In 2016, the resort season in Sochi was opened on May 28 with a carnival procession; this year it will also be opened in late May.

The Governor has stated that businessmen, tourist operators and local authorities should work hard towards making rest in Sochi available to all Russians.

"We say that it is available only for those who have a high level of financial security. This is the main problem, which causes criticism of Sochi residents and visitors. Of particular importance is the position of tourism professionals. The business should be more flexible – one can earn money even in off-seasons, making tours cheaper and more accessible," the website of the press service of the Krasnodar Territorial Administration quotes Mr Kondratiev's statement on January 5.
