Russian officer found dead in Yerevan

The police found no signs of violence on the body of Viktor Emelyanov, the headquarters deputy chief of the Russian military base in Armenia. The body of the Russian officer was discovered in one of the Yerevan hotels.

On January 1, the body of Viktor Emelyanov, a 45-year-old Russian citizen, was found in one of the rooms of the Yerevan "Druzhba" Hotel.

According to the preliminary conclusion of forensic pathologists, no signs of violence were found on the body of the Russian officer, the "Shamshyan.com" reports today.

The edition also reports that Major Viktor Emelyanov served at the Russian base in Armenia as the headquarters deputy chief.

Till present, no official comments are available from the law enforcement authorities of Armenia or from spokespersons of the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) regarding the death of Viktor Emelyanov.
