Head of Dagestani CEC states possible dismissals of PEC chairs
Dagestan continues checking applications on violations committed during the September elections, said Magomed Dibirov, the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Dagestan, not excluding further dismissals of chairs of Precinct Election Commissions (PECs) for their violations of electoral procedures.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 22, the Dagestani CEC announced dismissal of 21 PEC chairs after analysis of violations admitted at September 18 elections.
Mr Dibirov has ruled out any connection of dismissals of PEC chairs in Buynaksk with the complaints of local Communists, who had gone on hunger strike in order to draw attention to their applications about election violations.
Out of 21 dismissals of PEC chairs, five occurred in Buynaksk, but these measures are merely demonstrative in nature, said Kamil Shakhbulatov, the first secretary of the Buynaksk branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).
According to his story, now, they have resumed checking applications of Buynaksk Communists about election violations; and investigators intend to withdraw ballot papers and voters' lists.
Let us remind you that on October 31, Ella Pamfilova, the head of the Russian CEC, called Dagestan one of the most problematic regions in terms of elections.
