Gudkov treats Nemtsov’s murder as political

Today, the Moscow District Military Court, which considers the murder of Boris Nemtsov, began questioning Gennady Gudkov, a former State Duma MP. He said that Nemtsov had received threats, including shortly before his murder, but he neglect his personal safety.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 3 the Moscow District Military Court began considering, with the participation of the jury, Boris Nemtsov’s murder case.

Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on February 27, 2015, in Moscow. Within his murder case five natives from Chechnya and Ingushetia were arrested, including Zaur Dadaev, brothers Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev. The criminal case also involves Chechen officers Ruslan Mukhudinov, Ruslan Geremeev, and Beslan Shavanov, who was killed during his detention.

At today's court session the advocate Zaurbek Sadakhanov asked Gennady Gudkov about his opinion on the motifs of Boris Nemtsov's murder.

"They were in his political and social activities. I am surprised that the murder was qualified differently. He was killed for his views, statements and for his political position," Gennady Gudkov said.

The judge asked the jurymen to ignore the witness’s statement and made a remark to the advocate.

"You shouldn’t ask such questions, because the answer is beyond the scope of the charges," said the judge.
