In Makhachkala, police force participants of two protest actions to leave city square

This morning, the central square of the capital of Dagestan hosted two protest actions. One action was held by mothers of the kidnapped young men, and another by employees of the "EKO-M", who demanded to pay off wage arrears.

About 20-30 activists of the social movement "The Heart of the Mother" decided to remind the authorities of kidnappings and extrajudicial killings in the republic.

Meanwhile, about 10 employees of the "EKO-M" company, engaged in cleaning the city, demanded to pay off the wage arrears for six months, the "Novoe Delo" reports.

Makhach Paizulaev, the general director of the "EKO-M" company, came out to meet his employees on protest, and several activists entered the administration together with him. Other protestors were forced by the police out of the square to the direction of the park, the "Chernovik" (Draft) reports.

The "Chernovik" also reports that the women who demanded to inform them about the whereabouts of their sons were met by Shamil Omarov, the deputy chief of the Makhachkala UVD (Interior Department). He warned them that if the women refuse to leave the place they will be taken to the UVD. As a result, the mothers on protest were also forced out of the square to the park.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 31, relatives of disappeared Dagestani residents also went to a rally in Makhachkala. Earlier, it has been also reported that in July, employees of the "EKO-M" company refused to turn up to work until full repayment of the wage arrears.
