Representative of Nemtsov family doubts torture of Gubashev

Olga Mikhailova, a representative of the affected party, said that Anzor Gubashev, one of the figurants in the Boris Nemtsov's murder case, used insulting words against Boris in his testimony; no detective would have dictated such words.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at today's court session Anzor Gubashev told the court that during interrogations power agents had stripped him naked, beat him up and tortured with electricity.

Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on February 27, 2015, in Moscow. Within his murder case five natives from Chechnya and Ingushetia were arrested, including Zaur Dadaev, brothers Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev. The criminal case also involves Chechen officers Ruslan Mukhudinov, Ruslan Geremeev, and Beslan Shavanov, who was killed during his detention.

Olga Mikhailova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the case files contain several interrogation protocols of the defendants, including Anzor Gubashev.

According to her story, in his testimony Gubashev "used very coarse vocabulary." "He testified in the case by using offensive and abusive words and other derogatory epithets about Nemtsov," said Olga Mikhailova.

She believes that "not a single operative agent could have dictated these words for a testimony." She has also stressed that "Gubashev's words about torture were checked".

"There are expert's conclusions stating that Gubashev had given his testimonies voluntarily. Besides, the case files contain his application about refusal from advocate's services, since it was the advocate who had 'advised' Gubashev to testify about torture," Olga Mikhailova has concluded.
