Tbilisi: action of UNM supporters was about 200 people strong

The "United National Movement" (UNM) has failed to receive answers to their questions at the meeting with Tamar Zhvaniya, the Chair of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, said UNM leaders at the protest action.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that tonight activists of the oppositional UNM gathered in front of the CEC building. They stated violations during voting at a number of polling stations. They demanded to meet Ms Zhvaniya, the CEC Chair, and she agreed.

According to organizers, up to 200 UNM supporters came to the CEC building.

The meeting of three UNM leaders – David Bakradze, Giorgi Bokeriya and Nika Meliya – with Tamar Zhvaniya lasted for about an hour; then, the leaders came out to the crowd and said they "failed to get answers to their questions."

"In reality, the CEC staff fails to understand or wouldn't understand what's going on," Nika Meliya said to the protests.

In his turn, Giorgi Bokeriya said that the UNM would hold intra-party consultations and determine their "further protest steps."
