Authorities of Rostov Region announce payment of about 20 million roubles to miners

The "Regional Development Corporation" has paid out 20 million roubles of wage debts to miners of the "Kingcoal" Group. The remaining debt is 270 million, Vasily Golubev, the Governor of the Rostov Region, said today, adding that payments are made to the miners "for the time actually worked out, that is, until the moment when the idling started. We have supported people in this situation as much as we could."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about the protests of employees of the enterprise from the group of companies named "Kingcoal", which are at different stages of bankruptcy. The salary debts exceed 300 million roubles.

According to the Governor, most of former employees of the "Kingcoal" have been employed, but not always to the same speciality.

The TASS quotes Mr Golubev as saying that the further payment of salary debts is possible through the sale of assets of the bankrupt companies. It is expected that some money will be received from the "Binbank", the main creditor of the closed mines.

So far, there are no comments of "Kingcoal" employees on these statements. However, earlier miners criticized the official reports on the repayment of debts, claiming that the sums were extremely small.
