Kuban FSB office reports on identification of man suspected of involvement in IS

A criminal case is instituted against a man, who was trained in Syria to join the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), banned in Russia. This was reported by the Department for the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian FSB.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier, Alexander Bortnikov, the chief of the Russian FSB, has reported that in 2015, in the Russian Federation, the FSB identified 2900 people, suspected of involvement in the terrorist activities in Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq.

"This citizen underwent the ideological and military training at a terrorist training centre on the territory of Syria," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the Russian FSB Department for the Krasnodar Territory as reporting.

According to the Russian FSB, the criminal case was instituted against the man under Articles "training in order to carry out terrorist activities," "organization of an illegal armed formation (IAF) or involvement in it," the "Yugopolis" reports. The above Articles stipulate punishment of up to life imprisonment.
