Restoration of roads damaged by landslide launched in Nozhai-Yurt District

In the dwelling settlement of Sayasan, Nozhai-Yurt District of Chechnya, the have started restoring transport routes and bridges, damaged by landslides, said the republic's Ministry of Motor Roads (MMR).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in June prolonged rains caused the state of emergency in several districts of Chechnya; and on June 15 caused a landslide, which damaged four houses in two villages of the Nozhai-Yurt District.

According to the spokesman of the MMR of Chechnya, restoration of the village road infrastructure was initiated on August 6.

The population of Sayasan is over 1200. The landslides damaged and destroyed 48 houses in the district; mostly suffered the villages of Benoy, Tatay-Kotar and Zandak, said a source from the administration of the Nozhai-Yurt District.

According to the source, under the order of the head of the republic, new houses were built for the affected residents of the district; 12 of them – in the village of Novy Benoy of the Gudermes District.

The road network in the area of Sayasan was in poor condition before the landslides, locals assert.

Earlier, on July 1, the completion of houses for resettlers from the landslide zone was reported.
