Believers of Salafi mosque detained in Makhachkala

Today, law enforcers have detained and brought to the police station about 20 believers, coming out after the Friday prayer of the Salafi mosque, located in Hungarian Fighters Street.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Makhachkala, the mosque in Hungarian Fighters Street regularly becomes an object for raids of Dagestani law enforcers. Detainees are usually brought to a police station and released after verification of their IDs and inclusion in the police preventive registration list.

Today, law enforcers have staged a vigil in Hungarian Fighters Street and in the neighbouring streets. After the end of the Friday prayer, they started to stop mosque-goers passing by them and demanded to present their IDs. Regardless of whether mosque visitors showed their IDs or not, they were detained and then brought to the police station. In total, the law enforcers thus detained about 20 people, the "Chernovik" (Draft) reports.

Last Friday, on July 15, law enforcers used the same tactics like today. Then, 50 people were brought to the police station under the pretext of the need for their identification, the "InterDag" reports.
