ICRF completes inquiry into Boris Nemtsov’s murder
The investigation of the case against Zaur Dadaev, Shagid Gubashev, Anzor Gubashev, Temerlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev, accused of killing Boris Nemtsov, is over. They are accused of committing the murder for hire in an organized grouping, and of illegal acquisition, carrying, transportation and storage of firearms (points "g and h", Part 2, Article 105, and Part 3, Article 222, of the Russian Criminal Code). The maximum penalty under these articles is life imprisonment.
The end of the inquiry was reported today by Vladimir Markin, the spokesman of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
According to investigators, in late September 2014, Ruslan Mukhudinov and other persons offered Beslan Shavanov, Dadaev, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Bakhaev and Eskerkhanov to kill Nemtsov for remuneration of at least 15 million roubles.
The advocates of the aggrieved party state that Mukhudinov is not the key figure, and it is necessary to search for another Chechen officer – Ruslan Geremeev, whose driver was Mukhudinov. According to their version, the investigators, who had voiced the conclusion that Mukhudinov had been the customer of the murder, are trying to divert the blow from the nearest retinue of Kadyrov; and the appearance of information about Mukhudinov was an attempt to divert public attention from Ruslan Geremeev.
