In Dagestan, law enforcer wounded in attack, ICRF reports

In Dagestan, a resident of the village of Khebda of the Shamil District has reported that a local police checkpoint was shelled. This was confirmed by the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). As a result of the attack, one of law enforcers was wounded, am ICRF's official reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on Thursday, a resident of the village of Khebda reported that he heard gunshots near a police checkpoint. When he left the house, he saw law enforcers, one of whom was wounded. The attackers managed to escape.

The attack on the policemen was committed by two persons, who opened fire from automatic firearms, reports Rasul Temirbekov, the spokesman of the ICRF's Investigating Department for Dagestan.

The attackers have not been identified yet. The incident is being investigated within a criminal case under three articles: on attempt on life of a law enforcer, illicit arms trafficking, and intentional damage to other people's property.
