YouTube posts video with Kalyapin's eviction from hotel in Grozny

The general director of the "Grozny City" Hotel asked Igor Kalyapin to leave the building because of the criticism voiced by the human rights defender against the leader of Chechnya. This follows from the video, which appeared on March 21 on YouTube. In the course of the dialogue, the general director of the hotel refused to present to the human rights defender a written basis for his eviction.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 16, Igor Kalyapin, a member of the Presidential Human Rights Council and the leader of the "Committee for the Prevention of Torture", was attacked near the "Grozny City" Hotel, from where he was evicted. About 15 people knocked Igor Kalyapin off his feet, threw about 20 eggs in him, draggled him with flour and poured him with green antiseptic.

On the video, people can hear the dialogue between Igor Kalyapin and a man who introduced himself as the general director of the hotel. He asked Igor Kalyapin to leave the hotel for the criticism voiced by the human rights defender against the leader of Chechnya.

Igor Kalyapin asked the man where he could go "at nightfall", but he was told that he "had to know where he was travelling."

After his eviction from the hotel, the human rights defender himself has explained this decision by the criticism voiced against Ramzan Kadyrov and the Chechen police.
