Igor Kalyapin beaten up in central Grozny
The attack on Igor Kalyapin, the head of the "Committee for the Prevention of Torture" (CPT) has been committed this evening near the hotel "Grozny City", said Dmitry Utukin, a CPT member.
According to Dmitry's version, today, policemen and a hotel administrator came to Kalyapin's room in the "GroznyCity" hotel, and "asked him, without any explanations, to leave the hotel."
"When Kalyapin left the building with his things, he was attacked by 'certain young men in civilian clothes, who beat him up and threw eggs at him'," the RBC quotes Dmitry Utukin as saying.
The attackers on Igor Kalyapin fled immediately after the incident, the journalist Anton Naumlyuk, an eyewitness of the incident, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
