Mardiros Demerchyan treats conclusion of forensic examination as forgery

Mardiros Demerchyan, a builder involved in the construction of Olympic facilities in Sochi, has received the results of the forensic examination appointed by investigators. According to him, the date on the document is false, and the list of the experts referred to does not correspond to reality.

Mardiros Demerchyan was detained by the police on June 12, 2013. On the other day, he was brought to the hospital from the police station. According to the builder, the policemen beat and tortured him. Mardiros Demerchyan was refused in the initiation of criminal proceedings against the policemen, and then he himself was accused of false denunciation. On December 17, 2014, the court found him guilty, but on April 2, 2015, the sentence was cancelled and the case was returned to the Prosecutor's Office.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 4, Mardiros Demerchyan came to undergo the forensic examination. Later, the builder reported that the expert failed to make the inspections specified in the investigator's resolution and that a dentist was the only specialist attracted to the forensic examination, although there was no such a request.

On March 3, 2016, Mardiros Demerchyan received an expert opinion on his inspection. According to the document, the examination was carried out by four experts during half an hour on December 22, 2015. However, no examination took place on the specified date, Mardiros Demerchyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The investigator in charge of the case and the chairman of the forensic examination commission referred to the secrecy of the investigation and refused to comment to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent with respect to the Mardiros Demerchyan's statement concerning the falsification of the document.
