Body of Azerbaijani oiler from "Gyuneshli" found in the Caspian Sea

The body of an employee of the Azerbaijani oil platform "Gyuneshli", who died in a fire, was found off the coast of Turkmenistan. Thus, the number of casualties of the fire had reached 12; and 18 more people are still regarded missing.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the fire on the "Gyuneshli" oil platform broke out on December 4, 2015. According to official sources, 33 people were evacuated, but 30 workers could not be saved; later 11 bodies were found, and 19 oilers were reported missing.

The above body will be delivered to homeland for identification, reports the website of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) of Azerbaijan.

As of January 29, one of the workers, evacuees from the platform, Bakhtiyar Alekperov, continued his treatment in the burn centre, the "Trend" writes with reference to the SOCAR.

Let us remind you that the figures on the fire victims differ. Thus, the Committee to Protect Oilers Rights of Azerbaijan reported earlier that the death toll was 32; and in total, 74 workers were on the platform at the time of the fire.
