Astrakhan hosts action in support of Ildar Dadin

Activists of the movement "Russians of Astrakhan" have held a picket in support of Ildar Dadin, who was sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a penal colony on the charge of repeated violation of the rules for holding actions. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Let us remind you that on December 7, in Moscow, the court found Ildar Dadin, a 31-year-old former security guard and cash messenger, guilty of repeated violation of the rules for holding public events. Ildar Dadin was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment. This was the first sentence under Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. A number of Russian cities, including Astrakhan, hosted actions in support of Ildar Dadin.

On January 7, an action took place in Astrakhan. Activists Daniil Morozov, Igor Stenin, and Nikolai Strygalyov unfolded a poster reading: "Free World for #FREEDADIN".

"I've supported Ildar, since I believe that the article, which allows double punishment of a person for the same act, is simply unacceptable. Moreover, it is impossible to imprison a person for the implementation of his right guaranteed by the Constitution. I demand the complete abolition of his sentence," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Nikolai Strygalyov.
