Circassian activists treat anti-Turkish sanctions as threats to relations with their compatriots

The Russian sanctions against Turkey may result in the closure of the Circassian language training programme in Istanbul, states Kuban Kural, a Circassian activist from Turkey.

Turkey has every right to protect its airspace; however, such situations as the incident with the Russian plane should be prevented. This was declared by Kuban Kural, the leader of the public movement "No Sochi".

The Circassian community in Turkey has primarily negatively perceived the closure of humanitarian and educational programmes with the Circassian republics of Northern Caucasus on the background of the break in relations between the two countries, Kuban Kural has noted.

The anti-Turkish sanctions have already affected the educational sphere, as well as the relations in the field of cultural and humanitarian exchange, reports Adam Bogus, Chairman of the Adyg regional branch of the "Adyge Khase".

According to Adam Bogus, in Adygea, Turkish immigrants working in the region start feeling under pressure. Meanwhile, the people who buy raw materials in Turkey and sell them in Adygea also face difficulties.

Besides, Adam Bogus has also added that there is a risk of separation of the Circassian Diaspora abroad and its development in isolation from the International Circassian Association (ICA).
