Three drug policemen in Astrakhan detained on suspicion of illegal search

In Astrakhan, a criminal case was opened against three employees of the Federal Service for Drug Control (known as FSKN). According to investigators, they broke by force into the apartment of a local resident and conducted an illegal search.

"On July 15, the above employees of the operative service of the regional FSKN illegally broke into the apartment of a local resident and, by using physical force, began conducting an illegal search, during which they took away from the victim the key to the Honda motorcycle, the cash money in the amount of 32,000 roubles, and a bank card, from which they subsequently withdrew 40,000 roubles," says the statement of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), posted on its website on August 12.

The three drug policemen were detained; and a criminal case was opened against them on abuse of power with violence (point "a", part 3, Article 286 of the Russian Criminal Code).

At the request of the investigator, the court has ruled to place them into custody.
