Villagers of Baranovka in Sochi complain about shortage of drinking water

In the village of Baranovka, located in the resort city of Sochi, a gathering of citizens was held, who demanded from the LLC "Sochivodokanal" to immediately solve the problem of public drinking water outages.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that on August 1 the gathering was attended by about 30 villagers. In their opinion, the shortage of water is caused by the fact that the supplying company provides water to blocks of flats erected close to their households.

The villagers stated that there are frequent water outages; and in some homes, as they said, there was no water for the last two months.

At the "Sochivodokanal", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told that "there is no water because of technical problems with the pump, which has insufficient power to pump water into the reservoirs supplying water to the village." Also, according to an employee of the company, the village water pipeline requires reconstruction, because the village is actively built-up.

The rally decided to appeal to the bosses of the city and the local water utility to force them to perform their duties of ensuring the drinking water supply.
