Ali Taziev sentenced to second life term

Today, the North-Caucasian District Military has convicted Ali Taziev, also known as "Magas", who is already serving his life imprisonment for a number of high-profile crimes, to the second life term.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to the prosecution, at night on June 22, 2004, Ali Taziev took part in the attack of militants commanded by Shamil Basaev on governmental objects in Ingushetia. On June 30 this year, the prosecutor demanded life imprisonment for Taziev and a fine of one million roubles. Taziev refused to plead guilty.

Today, the verdict to Ali Taziev was announced. "On a combination of crimes, by partial addition of punishments, the court has decided to appoint life imprisonment to Ali Taziev," said the judge, as quoted by the TASS.

In view of the verdict of 2013, Taziev will go on serving his life sentence at a special security penal colony, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
