House in Vinogradnaya Street set on fire, Sochi fire brigade asserts (+video)

The fire brigade of Sochi believes the burned house in Vinogradnaya Street in Sochi was deliberately set on fire. According to local residents, it is not the first time in Sochi, when fires start in the houses that are subjected to demolition.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 25, four apartments were burned out in the fire that occurred in No. 6 inVinogradnaya Street. The entire house, where nine families live, was deprived of gas and electricity supply. According to the local residents, shortly before the fire, they saw an unidentified man in their house.

"On April 25, the house No. 6 in Vinogradnaya Street was set on fire," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by an inspector of the Sochi fire brigade, who visited the place of the incident.

Let us remind you that in February 2015, the Sochi authorities demanded from the tenants of the house in Vinogradnaya Street to move to apartments allotted to them in new buildings. The tenants challenge the officials' demand in court.

According to the tenants of the house affected by the fire, it is not the first time in Sochi, when fires start in the houses that can be subjected to demolition.

"In Sochi, dozens of houses, similar to our house, were burned down, and multi-storied buildings were constructed in their places," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Yuri Pakhmutov, whose apartment was burned down on April 25.

"Our problem is that we live in a good place. A lot of people felt envy about that fact," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Nadezhda Fomina, the head of the house.
