Makhachkala resident charged with inciting extremism

The Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan has sent to the court a criminal case against a Makhachkala resident accused of posting in one of the social networks a video record and texts calling for extremist actions.

According to investigators, on December 19, 2013, M. Magomedov, a resident of Makhachkala, created on the social network "Odnoklassniki" a user profile under the pseudonym of "Murad As-Salyafi", the website of the Russian Prosecutor's Office reports.

"In the period from January to February 2014, he deliberately posted on the page of his account a video record titled 'Everyday life of Mujahideen Tsumada Jamaat' and text materials under the titles of 'Kadhi IK Abu Muhammad the need to establish the Imarat' and 'Statements of Mujahideen of Rabbanikali sector'," the Russian Prosecutor's Office reports.

Experts have found out that the posted materials contain statements that justify terrorist activities and call on for extremist actions. Besides, they also contain the statements "intended to incite hatred and humiliation of a group of persons on the grounds of religion and a particular social group."

The case has been sent to the North-Caucasian Military District Court for consideration on the merits.

It should be added that in September 2014, in Dagestan, a special cyber team revealed on the Internet almost 30 websites with signs of extremist propaganda.
